Test Research on the Knock of a Common-Rail Diesel Engine Fueled with Diesel-Methanol Dual-Fuel

Experiments were conducted on a diesel-methanol dual-fuel (DMDF) engine modified by six-cylinder, turbo-charged, inter-cooled diesel engine. According to the number of injection, experiments are divided two parts: single injection mode and double mode. The results show that, at mode, maximum pressure rise rate is small runs smoothly, however, knock still occurs when co-combustion ratio (CCR) big enough. Under status, power density block vibration concentrating some special frequencies rises dramatically, frequency (about 4.1 kHz) lower than that (7–9 kHz). cylinder oscillations status very different from non-knock status. become more concentrated fiercer frequencies, same as vibration.
